Open doors and exhibition for Architecture Week at Col·lectiu Punt 6
This year we have participated in Architecture Week by organizing an exhibition about our history of almost 20 years. The exhibition shows 30 of the more than 400 projects that we have carried out to incorporate the feminist perspective in urban planning in more than 130 cities and towns in Catalonia, the Spanish State and the world.
Open days were organized at the office during two afternoons in June, where you could see the exhibition, learn about our daily work space and where we also organized a space for dialogue every day to explain the projects and the main challenges of applying the theoretical, epistemological and methodological framework of feminism to urban planning practice. More than 40 people attended the sessions.
Some of the questions that arose in these dialogues were: What negative impacts can urban planning without a gender perspective have on people’s daily lives? How is differential mobility? What elements and situations determine the perception of security for women, lesbians and trans people? How can spatial and immaterial infrastructures be generated to collectivize the management and daily provision of care in the field of housing?
